    B. Master’s and Doctor’s Candidates
    All applicants must follow Chinese laws and regulations as well as NPU’s rules and regulations, respect Chinese customs, enjoy the knowledge of Chinese culture and adopt a friendly attitude towards China.
    Master’s candidates must have a bachelor’s degree and in principle should not exceed 35 years old; Doctor’s candidates must have a master’s degree, and in principle should not exceed 40 years old. All applicants should be in good health.
    All applicants should have graduated from prestigious universities (in principle the ranking of comprehensive universities or the majors should be within national top 10.) with excellent academic performance.
    All applicants should hold outstanding achievements in their field of work or field of study, or the applicants should show great research potential.

Applicants applying for general scholar programs must be under the age of forty-five (45) and have completed at least two years of undergraduate study; and those who applying for senior scholar programmes must be a master’s degree holder or an associate professor (or above) and under the age of fifty (50).

Application Procedure:

Introduction – Due to the intergovernmental character of UNESCO, individual application is not acceptable for UNESCO. Only the application endorsed by the National Commissions for UNESCO will be considered. Applicants should submit their application documents through the National Commissions. The National Commission will select qualified candidates and transmit the application documents of nominated candidates to UNESCO. The applications, attached with the letter of nomination endorsed by the National Commission, should be sent to Mr Stoyan Bantchev, Chief of the Participation Programme and Fellowships Section by e-mail (s.bantchev-at-unesco.org), with b.qin-at-unesco.org and v.lopy(at)unesco in copy, by 26 March 2018 at the latest. UNESCO and the Chinese authorities will select the seventy-five (75) most qualified candidates. The National Commissions to UNESCO of the beneficiaries will be duly informed by UNESCO.

How to Apply:  

  • Step 1: Read carefully the Announcement letter, especially the attached ANNEX II, for UNESCO/China Co-Sponsored Fellowships Programme 2018-2019 to understand the requirements for eligible candidatures and the procedures for the submission of application.
  • Step 2: Contact the National Commission for UNESCO of your country to enquire the application procedures at national level. Click here for the information to contact the National Commissions for UNESCO. Applicants are encouraged to contact in advance with their target Chinese universities and apply for the pre-admission. For the applicants who have received the pre-admission letters from by the time of submission, please attach the letters in your supporting documents.
  • Step 3: Prepare your application documents (in English or Chinese) properly according to the requirements prescribed in ANNEX II. 
  • Step 4: Submit your application to the National Commission for UNESCO of your country. NOTE: As National Commission for UNESCO of the invited countries will select and transmit the applications of nominated candidates to UNESCO Paris Headquarter by 26 March 2018 at the latest, applicants are advised to submit their application to the National Commissions as early as possible.
  • Step 5: As soon as You are informed by the National Commission for UNESCO of your country that you are nominated as a candidate for this programme, you should complete the online application and submit all the supporting documents on the online application system of China Scholarship Council. Commonwealth Fully Funded Scholarships for Master’s Courses in UK

Commonwealth Scholarship Commission in the United Kingdom (CSC) in partnership with UK universities offers Commonwealth Shared Scholarships for students from developing Commonwealth countries. Shared Scholarships are usually tenable for one-year Master’s courses only.

The purpose of the scholarship is to contribute to development needs of Commonwealth countries by providing training for skilled and qualified professionals and academics who would not otherwise have been able to study in the UK.

The Commonwealth Scholarship and Fellowship Plan (CSFP) is one of the largest and most prestigious scholarship schemes for international study in the world. Since it was established in 1959, around 30,000 individuals have benefited – 25,000 of them have held awards funded by the UK government, managed by the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission in the United Kingdom (CSC).

If applicants require a Tier 4 visa to come to the UK to study, they may be required to take an approved English language test and/or be screened for tuberculosis for your visa application. These regulations are subject to change at any time.

Scholarship Description:

  • Course Level: Scholarships are available for pursuing master’s degree program at UK Institutions.

Master Mind Scholarships for International Students in Belgium, 2018

 

The Government of Flanders is offering up to 30 to 40 Master Mind Scholarships for international students. These scholarships are available for pursuing masters programme at selected Flemish institutions.

The programme aims to promote the internationalization of the Flemish Higher Education, as stated in the Action Plan for Student Mobility, Brains on the Move (September 2013).

The Flemish Government is the executive branch of the Flemish Community and the Flemish Region of Belgium. It consists of a government cabinet, headed by the Minister-President and accountable to the Flemish Parliament, and the public administration (civil service) divided into 13 policy areas, each with an executive department and multiple agencies.

The eligible applicant must be registered as a full-time student at a higher education institution at the moment of application.   • English Language Requirements: In principal Dutch is the language of instruction. However, foreign language courses, courses with foreign guest speakers and teachers, internationally oriented courses, courses in the framework of international developing cooperation, courses in the framework of international exchange programmes and courses for groups of foreign students are taught in another language. Course material may be in any language. Most institutions require proof of Dutch language proficiency for the programmes taught in Dutch and a preliminary language test for the programmes taught in another language.

Application Procedure:

Introduction- Step 1: The applicant submits his/her application to the Host institution. Beware of internal deadlines set by the Host institution; some institutions have as deadline 15th February 2018!
Step 2: The Host institution accepts the application of the candidate.
Step 3: The Host institution starts the application procedure for the Master Mind scholarship by creating the candidate’s application file in the Mobility-Online tool.
Step 4: The applicant receives an email generated by the Mobility-Online tool notifying him/her of being preselected for a Master Mind scholarship.
Step 5: The applicant registers in the Mobility-Online tool and completes his/her application file in the Mobility-Online tool before the deadline.
Step 6: The Host institution validates and submits the completed application file in the MobilityOnline tool before the deadline of midnight 30th April 2018 GMT+1. Applications validated submitted after midnight 30th April 2018 GMT+1 will not be accepted.

How to Apply: Documents to be uploaded:
– Passport photo
– International passport or national registration card
– Transcript of records; if written in another language than Dutch, French or English, a certified translation must be enclosed.
– English language test results or Letter of exemption provided by the Host university
– Letter of motivation written in English
– Two letters of recommendation from professors of your (previous) Home university, University of Applied sciences, School of Arts or recent employer written in English.
– Copy of acquired diploma(s); if written in another language than Dutch, French or English, a certified translation must be enclosed.
– Three reasons of motivation for submission (at least 150 words) of the candidate’s file formulated by the Host institution in English; format: entry box in the application form or a separate document.

Xiamen University is offering up to 24 scholarships for doctoral, masters and undergraduate students. These scholarships are available for international (non-Chinese) students for 2018 intake.

Xiamen University, colloquially known as Xia Da, located in Xiamen, Fujian province, is the first university in China founded by overseas Chinese. Established by Tan Kah Kee in 1921, the university was originally known as Amoy University.

In order to enhance its internationalisation, XMU has launched a lot of English-medium programmes for international students. These programmes are taught in English and aim to produce high-level international specialists with a solid professional foundation plus a good understanding of the Chinese society and culture.

Scholarship Description:

  • Application Deadline: April 30, 2018
  • Course Level: Scholarships are available for pursuing doctoral, masters and undergraduate programme.
  • Study Subject: Scholarships are awarded to study the subjects offered by the university.
  • Scholarship Award: The University offers scholarships to doctoral, master’s and undergraduate candidates.

The first-class scholarships for doctoral and master’s candidates will have their tuition covered (a maximum of 4 years for doctoral programmes, 2 or 3 years for master’s programmes) and offer monthly living allowance (RMB 3,500 for each doctoral student; RMB 3,000 for each master’s student). Undergraduate candidates will not be provided with the first-class scholarship.

The second-class scholarships will have the awardees’ tuition covered (a maximum of 4 years for doctoral programmes, 2 or 3 years for master’s programmes, 4 or 5 years for undergraduate programmes). Scholarship details are as follows:
