University West is a university college located in Trollhättan, in southwestern Sweden. The Western Union Foundation Global Scholarship Program, also referred to as WU Scholars, is a program designed to support young people and their efforts to pursue a post-secondary education.

The WU Scholars program was created to help young people a boost toward a better life. The Western Union Foundation believes education is the surest path to economic opportunity. Educational pursuits to gain knowledge and skills for in-demand, 21st century careers are helping people all over the world climb the economic ladder.

Selected scholarship recipients will receive USD $2,500 each to contribute toward tuition or school fees at an accredited post-secondary institution and will be selected based on criteria relating to the program’s three pillars: Perseverance, Aspiration, and Community.

The Institute of International Education, Inc. (IIE), a US private not-for-profit leader in the international exchange of people and ideas, administers the program on behalf of the Western Union Foundation and its contributors.

Benefits

Selected scholarship recipients will receive USD $2,500 each to contribute toward tuition or school fees at an accredited post-secondary institution.

Eligibilities

  • Scholarships must be used at an accredited post-secondary institution seeking an undergraduate degree.
  • All applicants must be pursuing a degree/field of study in one of the following categories: science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and business/entrepreneurship.
  • All applicants for scholarships must be between the ages of 18 – 26 years of age on June 1, 2017.
  • Application must be submitted in English. Translation services may be used to help non-English speakers submit. You will not be penalized for basic errors.
  • Must be able to demonstrate admittance to an accredited post-secondary institution or have applied for admittance.
  • Must provide a letter of recommendation from a teacher or professor. If a teacher or professor is unable to submit a recommendation on your behalf, you may also use someone who has supervised you in a youth/community group, volunteer position, job/employment situation, etc.
  • Scholarships must be used on programs resulting in an undergraduate degree. Specialized academic programs (study abroad term, stand-alone language acquisition course, service learning, etc.) are not permitted.
  • Scholarships may not be used for advanced degrees, such as Masters, PhD, JD, etc.
  • Scholarships may be used for tuition or school fees during the academic term immediately following scholarship winner selections (estimated in July). Funds cannot be used for room and board or for school supplies.
  • Immediate family members of controlling officers in Western Union, any of its affiliates and non-affiliated nonprofit entities, or its Agents are not eligible to participate in the scholarship program.
  • All other employees and their family members who meet the other eligibility requirements may apply.

Spain International Scholarships for Foreign Students at University of Jaen, 2017

Up to 297 Scholarships are available for excellent international students to wish to study a bachelor and master’s degree at the University of Jaen.

The objective of the scholarship is to promote internationalization of Bachelor Degrees students from the University of Jaen.

The University of Jaen is a public university based in Jaen, Andalucía, Spain. It is a young university established by Law 5 / 1993 of the Andalusian Parliament of July 1, 1993.

Applicants whose first language is not English are usually required to provide evidence of proficiency in English at the higher level required by the University.

Course Level: Scholarships are available for pursuing bachelor and master’s degree programme.

Study Subject: Scholarships are awarded to study the subjects offered by the university.

Scholarship Award:

Type A. Total tuition fees exemption + Grant for Bachelor studies

  • 180 scholarships are awarded for type a undergraduate studies:
  • Up to 100% of the tuition fees for the whole Bachelor degree at the University of Jaén (240 ECTS- 4 years). Annually, the tuition fees corresponding to one academic year (60 ECTS) will be paid. Additional ECTS should be paid by the student concerned. In general, registrations of less than 60 ECTS annually will not be admitted.
  • An additional grant of €2,200 per year and candidate, for accommodation/support expenses (2,400 USD approx.).
  • Free Spanish courses for non-Spanish speaking students.

Students should have a minimum GPA of 7 out of scale of 10

Type B.  Partial tuition fees exemption for Master’s studies

  • 72 scholarships for Bachelor studies. Each scholarship consists of:
  • Up to 100% of the tuition fees for the whole Bachelor degree at the University of Jaén (240 ECTS- 4 years for Bachelor degree). Annually, the tuition fees corresponding to one academic year (60 ECTS) will be paid. Additional ECTS should be paid by the student concerned. Registrations of less than 60 ECTS annually will not be admitted.
  • Free Spanish courses for non-Spanish speaking students.

Students should have a minimum GPA of 6.5 out of scale of 10

Scholarship can be taken in Spain

Number of Scholarships:  There are 297 scholarships available for international students.

Eligibility: Talent scholarship applicants will be subject to the following requirements:

  • Applicants for a Bachelor’s Degree scholarship are required to have completed secondary school or equivalent. Applicants for a Master’s Degree scholarship are must have acquired the degree required to gain access to the master’s programme.
  • To have a minimum GPA of 7 out of a scale of 10 for type A grants or a minimum GPA of 6.5 out of 10 for type B grants.

Nationality: International students can apply for these scholarships.

Stipendium Hungaricum is a scholarship program for foreign students, founded by the Hungarian Government in 2013. The program aims to promote cultural understanding, economic and cultural relations between Hungary and other countries.

Eotvos Lorand University is a Hungarian public research university based in Budapest. Founded in 1635, ELTE is one of the largest and the most prestigious public higher education institutions in Hungary.

Course Level: Scholarships are available for pursuing BA/BSc (undergraduate; 3 years);  MA/MSc (graduate; 2 years);  PhD studies (doctoral; 2+2 years) and one-cycle BA+MA (5 years).

Study Subject: ELTE, offers a wide range of degree programs to Stipendium Hungaricum students.

  • Dormitory place or additional contribution to accommodation costs: HUF 40,000 (EUR 130)
  • Health care services according to the relevant Hungarian legislation (Act No. 80 of 1997, national health insurance card) and supplementary medical insurance for up to HUF 65 000 (cca EUR 205) a year/person

Eligibility: Stipendium Hungaricum scholarships are available for bachelor, master, one-tier master, doctoral and non-degree programmes (preparatory and specialisation courses). Both full-time and part-time study modes are available in case of bachelor, master, one-tier master and doctoral studies.

College Admission Requirement

Entrance Requirement: Admission requirements and application procedures might differ for the programs, depending on the academic level and field of study.

English Language Requirement: Applicants are eligible to apply only if they meet the minimum language criteria set by the chosen host higher education institution. Study programmes in the English language: students shall have a level of English proficiency required by the host institution. Study programmes in the Hungarian language: students shall participate in a one-year preparatory Hungarian language course before starting their higher education studies. In addition to the Hungarian language, subjects related to the chosen field of studies will also be taught in Hungarian. Study programmes in other languages: students shall have a level of proficiency in the language of the study programme required by the host institution.

Finland Abo Akademi University Full Scholarships for Students, 2017

The call for applications for the Åbo Akademi University Scholarships for students is annually in February. Scholarships are available for the students of Finland studying for a bachelor’s or a master’s degree programme.

Abo Akademi University is the only exclusively Swedish language university in Finland. It is located in Turku and is said to have one of the most prestigious business programs in the world.

Course Level: Scholarships are available for students studying for a bachelor’s or a master’s degree programme.

Study Subject: Scholarships are awarded to study the subjects offered by the university.

Scholarship Award: A general scholarship order and the orders for the different scholarship funds can be found at the student office in Gripen.

Scholarship can be taken in the Finland

Eligibility: There are three scholarship categories:

  • General scholarships – are open for application for all degree students on bachelor/master level
  • Faculty scholarships – are open for application for students studying a specific subject or at a specific faculty in accordance with the scholarship orders
  • Special scholarships – have special stipulations e.g. regarding background, specialisation in studies or life situation

Nationality: Students from Finland can apply for Abo Akademi University Scholarships.

UNESCO Fully Funded Fellowship Program in Poland, 2017

Applications are invited for 40 UNESCO/POLAND Co-Sponsored Research Fellowships for applicants from Africa, Arab states, Asia and the Pacific, Europe, Latin America and Caribbean. Fellowships will be given to undertake an individual research programme in the field of Science, Technology and Engineering.

Applicants must hold the Bachelor’s or M.Sc. degrees. Applicants from outside the home country will often need to meet specific English language/other language requirements in order to be able to study there.

Fellowships are awarded in the field of Science, Technology and Engineering.

Facilities offered by Polish Authorities:

  • Free tuition and access to the university facilities based on the local regulations. Accommodation at the AGH UST Student Campus organised for fellows by the UNESCO AGH Chair.
  • Monthly allowance of 1600 PLN (1 USD = approximately 4,0 PLN) corresponding to the salary of a local junior research fellow. Thus, all living expenses and accommodation in Poland are to be borne by the fellow with this allowance; and; (iii) A one-time special allowance of 1600 PLN to be paid upon arrival in Poland, this sum will cover different activities related to your stay in Krakow, such as an obligatory medical check-up upon arrival (in accordance with the internal regulations for all students); cultural, historical and/or touristic visits, conferences, workshops, and seminars related to your studies.
  • No provision to finance or lodge family members is made.
  • At the end of the research studies, the beneficiaries will receive a certificate attesting to their attendance at the host institution, this certificate will be given after receipt of the requested reports and financial clearance from the Institution.

Facilities offered by UNESCO:

  • International travel expenses: (by the most direct, economical route) from the beneficiary’s country to and from Poland will be covered by UNESCO under its Regular Programme Budget.
  • Health insurance for fellowship beneficiaries who are declared medically fit: UNESCO fellowship holders may be covered by a health insurance policy, taken-out by the Organization for the duration of fellowship. The costs of this health insurance is subscribed to and covered by UNESCO on behalf of awarded fellows.

  • Hold the Bachelor’s or M.Sc. degrees;
  • Be proficient in reading and writing English;
  • Be a member of Africa, Asia and the Pacific, Latin America and the Caribbean.

Candidatures should be submitted by the invited Member State. Original applications in duplicate must be channeled through the National Commission for UNESCO of the candidate’s country and communicated to Mr Stoyan Bantchev, Chief, Participation programme and Fellowships Section, by 14 April 2017 at the latest (GMT +01:00) to UNESCO mailing address. Applications should have imperatively the following attachments in DUPLICATE:

  • Two photographs attached to the applications (4×6 cm);
  • Certified copies (in English) of Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree/ PhD obtained; and,
